6 November 2015 – George Hwang LLC was conferred the Boutique Entertainment and Media Law Firm of the Year in Singapore award in the 2015 Corporate INTL Magazine Legal Awards on 5 November 2014.<\/p>\n
The nascent law firm which is eponymously named after its founder, George Hwang, was selected from a pool of nominees that had been shortlisted by the research department of Corporate INTL.<\/p>\n
Coming a year after its work in the Court of Appeal for the protection of journalists’ sources of information {Dorsey James Michael v World Sports Group, [2014) 2 SLR 208) and the more recent appointment by Action for AIDS to develop its Personal Data Protection Programme, the award is significant recognition and validates the nickname – “enfant terrible” \u2013 that this gutsy two-year-old law firm had been given by pundits.<\/p>\n
In 2015, George Hwang LLC will further contribute to the entertainment and media industry in Singapore by writing the inaugural volume on Media Law for the Halsburys Law of Singapore.<\/p>\n
